Named "armor-piercing devil" by the enemy forces and "Angel with Heavy Firepower" by the UGSF, the Lightning was used for many purposes, including interception, dive bombing, level bombing, heavy bombing, ground attack, night fighting, photo reconnaissance, radar, fighter and visual pathfinding for bombers, evacuation missions, and extensively as a multipurpose fighter. Developed to the Tomorrowland Death Squad Force & the Octonauts, the Lightning had distinctive twin booms and heavy armament. The Lockheed Galaga 88 Triple Fighter Lightning is a Octonaut-Tomorrowlandian Space-World War II-era heavy fighter, piloted by Sorcerer Reginald along with Dashi (main co-pilot), along some other Octonauts (Koshi, Tweak, Shellington, etc.) & is the Octonauts' flagship. Meanwhile in later years much like the Gyaraga MP-95 from Galaga Arrangement, it was also mass-produced. Freeing a Blast Fighter causes it to join up with the current Gorg Boss Galaga, doubling the Blast Fighter's firepower. As before, it was possible to get the Blast Fighter by destroying Gorg Boss Galaga that got captured while diving. When captured, the boss returns with Galaga in tow to the enemy formation and attacks the player. As in the original Galaga, Gorgs shall occasionally stop mid-dive, and attempt to capture the Blast Fighter with a tractor beam. The Blast Fighter was a default single fighter from Galaga '88.
